EMRG Imaging — Eastern Mobile Radiology Group — brings diagnostic imaging to the patient. Our radiographers and sonographers travel to residential aged care homes, retirement villages, private homes and clinics across Melbourne with portable digital X-ray and ultrasound equipment, so patients are imaged where they are rather than sent to hospital.
We service more than 170 aged care homes and have performed over 10,000 patient examinations. Clinician-owned and clinician-run, with our own staff and our own equipment.
Portable digital radiography brought to the bedside — chest, abdomen, hip, pelvis, spine, shoulder, knee and extremity imaging. Images are captured on site and sent directly to our radiologists. Common reasons for referral include suspected fracture after a fall, chest infection or aspiration, constipation and bowel obstruction, PEG and NG tube placement, and assessment before a decision to transfer.
Sonographer-led bedside ultrasound, including abdominal, renal, bladder and post-void residual, pelvic, musculoskeletal and soft tissue studies, along with DVT and vascular Doppler. No radiation, no transfer, and the scan is performed in the patient’s own room.
In most cases we attend the same day or the next business day, and urgent referrals are worked into that day’s run. Images reach our radiologists as soon as they are captured, and anything clinically urgent is raised with the treating doctor directly.
Every examination is performed by our own Melbourne-based radiographers and sonographers, who come to know your facility, your access arrangements and your nursing team. We group patients into a single visit and work around meal and medication rounds.
Our radiologists, radiographers and sonographers also work within Melbourne’s major hospital and health networks. All clinical staff are AHPRA registered and our sonographers are ASAR accredited.
